The Terrain
The Riptide Ruck course is a multi-terrain challenge focused on Middleton Park and the Oak Island coastline. Operations center around a primary road and greenway loop, punctuated by a pulverizing beach loop rotation designed to maximize physical attrition. Expect heavy sand and coastal wind as the defining factors of this endurance test.
Middleton Park: HQ for the greenway loops and road transitions.
Vantage point: Middleton Park, the central hub for the Oak Island objective.

The Course Intel
The route demands mastery over high-attrition surfaces. Athletes will navigate the primary road and greenway loop around Middleton Park, transitioning through beach loop rotations that force heavy steps on soft coastal sand. Efficiency on the transitions is critical to survival.
Tactical Orientation: Detailed breakdown of the road, greenway, and beach rotations.
Course Intel
Middleton Park HQ
The operational heartbeat. Middleton Park serves as the central staging area for loop rotations and athlete medical monitoring.
Road & Greenway Loop
A high-tempo mix of road and paved greenway. This loop tests maintainable pace before the variable resistance of the coast.
Beach Loop Rotation
The rotation every fourth loop pulls athletes onto the tide-line sand. Expect heavy resistance and maximum core stabilization engagement.
Estimated Attrition
The coastal humidity and shifting terrain are projected to drive a 40% attrition rate within the first 12 hours. Adding multiplying weight to later night misery will assure many more DNFs. Only ONE will finish.
